The short version
- Your crate is private. Only you can see your records, wishlist and notes.
- We never sell your information, and we don't show ads.
- You can ask us to export or delete everything at any time.
Who we are
Wax 33 (wax33.com) is an app for cataloging music collections — vinyl, CDs and tapes — and finding records. It is currently in a private beta. Questions: hello@wax33.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address. If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We never see your Google password.
- Your crate: what you add — records and their details, photos of covers or barcodes, tags, notes, prices you paid, your wishlist, artists you follow, and orders you track.
- Sign-in cookies: small cookies that keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Basic technical logs kept by our hosting providers (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
- To run your account and show your crate to you.
- To fill in record details for you — for example, looking up a barcode, pressing or cover art. To do this we send the record's details (like artist, title or barcode) to music databases such as Discogs and MusicBrainz. These lookups don't include your name or email.
- If you use photo features, the photo may be analyzed by an AI service to identify the record.
- To send you sign-in emails and, if you turn them on, alerts about records you want.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help run Wax 33, and only for that purpose:
- Supabase — stores your account and crate (database and photo storage).
- Vercel — hosts the website.
- Resend — sends sign-in and alert emails.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- AI and music-data services — only the record details or photos needed for a lookup you asked for.
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
- Export: ask us and we'll send you a copy of your crate.
- Delete: ask us at hello@wax33.com and we'll delete your account and everything in it within 30 days.
- Correct: you can edit your crate any time.
- California residents have the right to know, delete and correct their personal information, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We don't sell or share personal information.
Keeping it safe
Your data is stored with encryption in transit (HTTPS), and database rules allow each person to reach only their own crate. No system is perfect, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Wax 33 isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you by email or in the app for important changes.
